Introduction

Hello Lovely People!

We are the three ladies behind this brand new collective, TWObigsteps. Hometowns ranging from all parts of Canada (British Columbia, Québec, and Yukon to be precise) and all recent graduates from post-secondary, professional dance programs. As this string of connection would have it, we all met during a residency through DORSALEdanse. We wanted to continue creating and exploring what we had discovered during those two, intense weeks and thought a collective would be a fantastic way to do that thing we love to do.

For the past month we have been busy, business ladies sorting out budgets, grant applications, performances, residencies, auditions, and social media presence; basically all the extra stuff no one tells you about when you tell them, "I just want to create art!" But here we are...on the way to creating a company that is designed to support emerging artists and bring together a versatile community through collaborations.

This blog is another way we can break down the heirarchy in art. By exposing a glimpse of the process, we hope to share our experiences beyond just our presence on stage. So follow along whether that is through images on instagram, posts through facebook or here! We welcome you and can't wait to share our journey.
